Long purple flower spikes in summer over aniseed scented leaves. Delicious, with acidic fruits or as a tea. Hardy perennial. Height 70cm.

For sowing indoors.

When: January to may
Where: In trays of seed compost
How: Sow thinly, cover lightly with compost and firm gently. Keep moist
Care: When large enough transplant to small pots of compost. Gradually acclimatise to outside conditions in late May avoid frosts) then transplant to a sunny growing position
Harvest: Mat to September

For Outdoor sowing

When: April to July
Where: In a prepared seed bed
How: Sow thinly in rows 20cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care: When large enough thin to 10cm apart. Transplant to a sunny growing position, 30cm apart, in autumn.
Harvest: May to September, the following year.
